Going Pro - Your First Paying Client
By Outfront Moderator Katherine

Many of us come to the point of acquiring our precious first paying client in much the same way. We make a site for ourselves, maybe a couple for friends or family members or for a voluntary group and then one day someone asks about a site for their business.
When this happened me I said "Yes! I can do that" with absolute
(apparent) confidence before slinking away into a corner muttering, "What have I got myself into!"
One thing to bear in mind is that in all likelihood you are your client's first web designer too. However little you feel you know you can be certain that you know a whole lot more then they do.
This article will look at various aspects of acquiring and dealing with your first paying clients. I am certain that others will have additional advice to offer and would love you all to share your experiences of your first paying clients at the forums.
